Modern Diet, an Indie R&B band from New York, blends electronic elements, drum samples and creamy synth bass to create a unique listening experience that can be closest described as Head Automatica meets Jamie Woon meets Postal Service. The vocals closer resembling those of Head Automatica (Daryl Palumbo) than those of someone like Jamie Woon, James Blake or Frank Ocean.
Modern Diet started as a lone project from songwriter Jake Cheriff who sings, plays keys, bass and drums. He also records, mixes and masters his projects. He is now joined by other band members who support him through live shows.
Rip Tide is Modern Diet’s first single and was originally released in 2011, but re-released on their “Home EP.” They are currently recording tracks for another upcoming released expect for Summer 2013.
